Fall Newsletter 2007

BANQUET HALL PROGRESS

We started off with a bang and then we ran into problems. We had been at a complete standstill since February but have had all the problems resolved. Construction has begun on the new elevator shaft and is progressing quite nicely.

We are continuing to demolish the old rehearsal hall and that is going smoothly so when we complete the elevator we will be on the fast track to finish the inside of the room. We will let you know when we have a projected completion date.

NEW AIR CONDITIONING

The new state-of-the-art air conditioning, installed in January of 2007, is working fine and even on the very warmest days of 100+ degree temperatures the theatre stays a comfortable 74 degrees.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

In the back of the auditorium we have constructed a new handicapped seating area and a new production area. This new production area and handicapped seating looks good and is more functional than before.

SUMMER MOVIES

We regret to report that our summer film series was not well attended this year. In fact, this summer is only the second summer in 22 years that the theatre will lose money on the movies. If you remember, we allowed the public to suggest and vote on the films they would like to see. The new voting process went over big with lots of votes and lots of good suggestions. However, when the doors opened these voters did not attend. So, we will go back to the old selection process of patrons attending the last three movies writing down the titles they wish to see and we will allow the computer to select from there. One change is, you can go on line and suggest a film and we will place into the list with the other suggestions.
